We are an accountancy firm based in the West Midlands who support a diverse range of clients from small stand alone tax returns to large limited companies and groups, both locally and nationwide.

Working alongside the expert support team, our qualified accountants fulfil all aspects of our clients accounting requirements, enabling their businesses to achieve their full potential whilst maintaining a personal touch. Taxation Services

Full payroll service

Calculation and processing of payroll services for as many members of staff as required to include compliance with auto enrolment for pensions. This will include providing new starter forms, payslips, P60’s, P45’s and P11d’s where necessary.

VAT

From discussions around whether the business would benefit from being VAT registered through to completion and submission of the VAT returns, we can help with all areas surrounding this.

Personal tax returns and planning

Completion and submission of personal tax return forms and also year round planning to ensure allowances and reliefs are being claimed where available.

Residency issues

Completion and submission of personal tax returns for non – UK residents with UK income and UK residents with non UK income. This includes advice around your residency position, leaving the UK to become non –resident and entering the UK from overseas.

Research and Development Claims

This incentive offered by HMRC for businesses involved in developing new products and technology offers significant corporation tax savings if you qualify. Unlike many firms we do not offer a contingent fee based on the tax savings from the claim but provide an upfront quote and work with you to ensure you get the maximum benefit from the relief and that all allowable costs are claimed.

Meet the Accountants

Our team have almost 100 years of experience between them. During this time, they have been faced with countless situations yet have consistently managed to deliver exceptional service to business and individual clients. Here is a little more information about them and what makes them tick.

Sarah Morgan FCCA

With 20 years’ experience Sarah started her accountancy career in 2001 working for a local medium sized accountancy practice. During this time, she studied and completed her AAT and ACCA qualifications, qualifying with ACCA in 2008, becoming a fellow in 2013.

At this point she joined John and has been instrumental in the growth of the business. She now has a senior role within Mortimer Childe Accounting offering a wide range of expertise focusing on the smaller clients and owner managed businesses who need help with the day to day running of their business together with the completion of their accounts and tax returns.

Dean Jarman FCCA

Dean joined the team in March 2019 having left his role as Senior Manager with a large regional practice where he had worked since 2003 and qualified as an ACCA member in February 2007.

Dean has a diverse portfolio of clients and specialises in delivering a wide range of accounting, taxation and advisory services to our larger owner managed Limited Companies. Offering a proactive and personal service to the owners and the finance staff of his clients, he provides advice and support on all aspects of the accountancy and financial requirements of their business. He also has experience in dealing with a variety of not for profit clients

He holds the ACCA practicing certificate with Audit Responsible Individual status and leads the delivery of our audit services.

John Brazier

John has been in practice since 1972, fronting his own practice since 1983. During this time, he has specialised in helping a diverse range of small and medium sized businesses in their financial matters from accounts and tax through to advice on business operations.

More recently John has chosen to focus on a consultancy role offering well valued advice to both businesses and individuals whilst continuing to keep his hand in with the day to day work.
